Nursing Role and Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs)

Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs is a development process from Millennium Development Goals-MDGs to promote healthy and well-being of the people. From MDGs consisted of 8 goals developing to 17 goals of SDGs, which the 3rd goal related to good health and well-being for all people. Nurses have their roles in four dimensions of health related to targets of 3rd goal. In addition, nurses can support to do activities to achieve other goals of SDGs. In health care system, nurses who work at primary care level can participate in promoting, supporting many activities to meet goals because they are close to the people in community, realize and understand need of the people and reinforce for strengthening community. However, nurses leader and administrators should analyze how nurses can perform and participate in health care team to achieve Sustainable Development Goals in 2030.
