Factors Predicting Active Ageing among The Older Adults in Muang District, Chainat Province

Abstract

This predictive descriptive research aimed to describe the level of active ageing and study predictive factors of active ageing among the older adults. The sample were 200 older adults which were selected by multi-step sampling technique. Data were collected by using the questionnaire including demographic data and active ageing. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression analysis.ฃ

The results revealed that the older adults have high scores for active ageing (gif.latex?%5Cbar%7Bx%7D =3.23, SD = .31). The results revealed that the older adults have high scores for active ageing ( =3.23, SD = .31). In addition, predicting factors were social networks regarding people come meet the senior citizen (β = -.26, b = -9.40), education above a secondary level (β = .23, b = 11.63), the older adults go out to meet other people (β = .15, b = 7.35) and age (β = .14, b = .24), which accounted for 13.40% (R2 = .13, F = 6.03) of active ageing among the older adults.
