Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is a major public health problem in the country. The likely increase in teenage pregnancy. Factors affecting that resulted in teenage pregnancy, such as the age when teens enter puberty, family environment, sexual attitude, knowledge about contraception, society and culture, drinking alcohol and substance abuse. When a pregnancy occurs, there will be changes both physical and mental. Teenage pregnancy also affects maternal and infant. May cause malnutrition, pregnancy induced hypertension, abortion, fetal death in utero, premature labor, low birth weight, intra uterine growth retard and perinatal mortality. The role of nurses to direct care for teenage pregnancy, teaching and coaching, consultant and collaboration. Role’ nurse are important in helping young women take care of themselves properly, have good health throughout the pregnancy, birth and after birth can reduce the effects or complications that may occur from pregnancy in teenagers.
