Factors Related to Stress and Coping Stress of Nursing Students in The Royal Thai Army Nursing College

Abstract

This study was a descriptive research to study stress and coping of nursing students. Data were collected by questionnaire. The study population consisted of 236 students academic year 2017 in the Royal Thai Army Nursing College. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient Spearman. The results revealed that the nursing students had low level of stress and had low coping ability. Stress did not correlated with coping. The School facilities and social support of nursing students were at a high level, a statistically significance negatively correlation among school facilities, social support and stress. No statistically significant correlation between age, grade, and learning achievement of nursing students and stress. Researcher had suggested to develop a proactive counseling system for teachers, advisors and the instructors of the division. Nursing students should be encouraged to contact all faculties and to evaluate the counseling system between faculty and nursing students every semester. To support the development of a comprehensive and stable information system should promote both on-the-job and off-the-job learning.
