บทคัดย่อ : Normal cold agglutinin (CA) เป็นแอนติบอดีที่พบในชีรัมของคนปกติทั่วๆ ไป สามารถทำปฏิกิริยาจับกลุ่มกับเม็ดเลือดแดงของตนเองที่ 4 C ที่ระดับ titer ต่ำๆ ในกรณีที่พบในช่วงอุณหภูมิสูงขึ้น หรือ titter สูงๆ อาจทำให้ เกิดพยาธิสภาพ หรืออาจรบกวนการทดสอบ routine cell และ serum test
จากการศึกษาระดับ titer และ specifcity ของ CA ของคนทั่วๆ ไป จำนวน 200 ราย เป็นผู้บริจาคโลหิต 100 ราย และผู้ป่วยนอกที่มาตรวจรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลราชวิถี จำนวน 100 ราย เป็นชาย 103 ราย และหญิง 97 ราย มีอายุ ระหว่าง 11-79 ปี พบว่า ไม่มี CA (negative) 23 ราย CA titer 1. 2. 4. 16. 32, 64 และ 128 เป็นจำนวน 41, 41, 31, 39, 18, 4 4 และ 1 ราย ตามลำดับ ชนิดของแอนติบอดีเป็น anti-I, anti-i และ anti-H จำนวน 173, 2 และ 2 ราย ตามลำดับ ไม่พบ anti-Pr และทุกรายเป็น IgM โดยถูก inactivated ด้วย dithiothreitol (DTT)
