The Post-Transfusion Hypertension, Convulsion and Cerebral Hemorrhage Syndrome in Thalassemic Child : A Case Report

Abstract: A 10-vear-old boy with known case of thalassemia disease. He had suffered from severe anemia (hematocrit 8%) and PRC (10 ml/kg/day) were given for 4 consecutive days. After 3 days of blood transfusion, he developed headache, convulsion, hypertension and subarachnoid hemomomomhage. His chinical was improved gradually by dexamethasone, furosemide and anticonvulsant medication.
He was discharged on the 11th admission date with good outcome and no neurological complication.
