Abstract

Abstract: A case of hemolyic disease of the newbom due to anti-E antibody reported. A female infanfant was born at Police General Hospital. Her mother possessed preformed anti-E antbody by pregnancy. The baby had been noticed to be jaundice at the age of 3 days. A positive direct antiobulin test and an eluate from baby's red cell revealed anti-E antibody simiar to antbody identfication from the mor's serum. The baby was treated by phototherapy for & days and discharged from hospital. Although the cocurrence of ant-E has infreguently been report ed., Rh (E) incompatibility may also cause hemolytic disease of the newborn in Thai family.
