Abstract : Leukapheresis procedures had been performed in 4 patients with hematologic malignancies to reduce complication of leukostasis and tumor ysis syndrome due due to intensive chotherapy. An average of 6.5 (range 5.4-7) liter of blood was processed per leukapheresis before a course of chemotherapy. Mean reduction of white blood cell count was 43:25%. All of the patients
undergoing leukapheresis were well tolerated. Leukapheresis can be performed effectively and conveniently in these patients.
