บทคัดย่อ
การสูบบุหรี่ เป็นสาเหตุการเสียชีวิตอันดับสองของประชากรทั่วโลก องค์การอนามัยโลกรายงานว่า ในแต่ละปีมีผู้เสียชีวิตจากการสูบบุหรี่มากกว่า 7 ล้านคน จากสถานการณ์ของประเทศไทยปี พ.ศ. 2558 พบว่า ประชากรไทยอายุ 15 ปีขึ้นไปสูบบุหรี่ 10.9 ล้านคน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 19.9 ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพและความสูญเสียเป็นอย่างมาก แต่บุคลากรทางสุขภาพมีจำกัด และมีภาระงานค่อนข้างหนัก อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน (อสม.) จึงเป็นกำลังที่สำคัญในการชักจูงให้ประชาชนเลิกบุหรี่ บทความวิชาการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อนำเสนอแนวคิดบทบาทพยาบาลชุมชนในการพัฒนาอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้านในการช่วยเลิกบุหรี่ ซึ่งพยาบาลชุมชน มีบทบาทเป็นผู้ให้ความรู้ด้านสุขภาพ ผู้นำ นักสร้างเครือข่าย ผู้แนะนำแหล่งประโยชน์ ผู้ให้คำปรึกษา พี่เลี้ยงในการปฏิบัติงาน ผู้ฝึกฝน และ ผู้เสริมสร้างพลังอำนาจให้กับอสม. โดยใช้ชุมชนเป็นฐานในการแก้ไขปัญหา เรื่องการช่วยเลิกสูบบุหรี่ในชุมชน
