Abstract

Introduction : This research is action research. The aim of this research is to study Health Belief Model with social support for patients with Non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. And to compare behavior within perception and to compare with Prevention Behavior patients with Noninsulin- dependent diabetes mellitus. In Experimental group and Control group Before and After experiment In Areas of responsibility in Ban Nong Tae Noi of Tambon Health Promoting Hospital Nadoon District, Mahasarakham Province. Methods: Forms an experimental research by selecting a specific sample as govt selection criteria qualify as non-insulin dependent diabetic patients aged 30- 60 years. Divide into experimental group 30 person and control group 30 person. A period of 12 weeks. The experimental group received health promotion program on health belief model. The Health Belief Model contain four steps: 1) the perceived risk of disease 2) the perceived severity of the disease, 3) perceived benefit and 4) perceived barriers. Data were collected before and after experiment using a questionnaire. Data analysis software to analyze the data using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in the analysis comparing differences mean scores within the group analyzed with statistical Paired Sample t-test and between groups were analyzed with statistical Independent Sample t-test. Results: After the implementation of activities under the health promotion program, according to the health belief model. The experimental group had a mean score of behavioral prevention of complications in the four areas: 1) the perceived risk of complications, 2) the perceived severity of complications 3) perceived benefits, and 4) reception. barriers to medication and diet changes are better than before the experiment. And more than a comparison group with statistical significance. (P-value & It; 0.05) Conclusions: The implementation of the activities under the program can achieve behavioral change target. Factor of the success of this research is to establish mutual recognition between patients, Family and community And to cooperate closely in family and community from area known as the "Sam-lan-phichit-beahhwan event" that focuses on the involvement of the community 3 areas is to care for the mental, food and exercise in the target groups. convenient, easy access and consistent with the community context.
