Self-learning Evaluation from Direct Experience in Isan Culture and Health among Pharmacy Student, Mahasarakham University

Abstract
Student-centered learning is a crucial part of education. This descriptive study aimed to evaluate student’s self-learning from direct experience in the real-life settings about Isan cultures and health among pharmacy students of Mahasarakham University. Data were collected from 41 of the second year students who joined in the project of an integrative learning between Isan cultures and health during 26th – 27th February 2005 at real-life settings, SakonNakorn and Nakornpranom Province. This project was a part of social and behavioral science course. The study instrument was a questionnaire that was assessed the content validity by experts. It showed the reliability with alpha Cronbach coefficient of 0.8761. [he results revealed (hat students demonstrated their self learning and 89.7 % of students showed high to highest satisfaction level in their self-learning. They would also like to have their junior students to participate in this project (mean scorc=4.49). They want to inform and tell their direct experiences to other persons (mean score=4.41). These results will not only be the basic information to improve the content and teaching method about Isan culture and health but also to be a model for applying in other courses.
