ความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพในการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหารของแรงงานชาวเมียนมาร์ ในอำเภอแม่ระมาด จังหวัดตาก ประเทศไทย

การพัฒนาระบบบริการสุขภาพของแรงงานข้ามชาติ เป็นวาระสำคัญของประเทศไทย การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพในการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหารของแรงงานชาวเมียนมาร์ ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ แรงงานเมียนมาร์ ที่ทำงานอยู่ในโรงงานขนาดใหญ่ จำนวน 22 คน และในโรงงาน ขนาดเล็ก/แรงงานตามบ้าน จำนวน 20 คน ในอำเภอแม่ระมาด จังหวัดตาก เลือกผู้ให้ข้อมูลแบบเฉพาะเจาะจงเก็บข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการสนทนากลุ่ม และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก ผลการศึกษาพบว่าทักษะการเข้าถึงข้อมูลด้านการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหารของแรงงานขึ้นกับกลุ่มอายุ ประสบการณ์และทักษะการสื่อสารของแรงงานข้ามชาติ สำหรับทักษะการตัดสินใจด้านการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหาร และการปฏิบัติพฤติกรรมสุขภาพ ขึ้นอยู่กับความรู้ด้านสุขภาพของแต่ละบุคคล การตัดสินใจและพฤติกรรมจะเปลี่ยนแปลงก็ต่อเมื่อแรงงานข้ามชาติมีประสบการณ์เคยป่วยเป็นโรคทางเดินอาหาร และเคยรับบริการในโรงพยาบาล และคลินิกแพทย์ในประเทศไทย หากแต่แรงงานข้ามชาติเผชิญความท้าทายในการปรับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพด้านการป้องกันควบคุมโรคทางเดินอาหาร เช่น ปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจ การทำงาน และพฤติกรรมการบริโภค ทักษะการรู้เท่าทันสื่อด้านการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหาร แรงงานที่ทำงานในโรงงานขนาดใหญ่ จะมีช่องทางในการตรวจสอบและศึกษาข้อมูลสุขภาพจากแหล่งข้อมูลที่หลากหลายมากกว่าแรงงานที่ทำงานในโรงงานขนาดเล็ก/แรงงานตามบ้าน งานวิจัยค้นพบว่า วัฒนธรรม และเพศภาวะมีผลต่อการพัฒนาความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพในการป้องกันโรคทางเดินอาหารของแรงงานชาวเมียนมาร์ แรงงานผู้หญิงสนใจพัฒนาความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพมากกว่าผู้ชาย เพราะวัฒนธรรมเอเชียกำหนดให้ผู้หญิงมีหน้าที่ทำงานบ้าน และดูแลครอบครัว
