Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the components of nursing information management in nursing organizations of first-line nurse managers in hospitals under the Royal Thai Police. The sample consisted of 498 registered nurses selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a 5-point rating scale. The content validity index (CVI) was .90, and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was .99. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used for data analysis.

The results revealed that nursing information management in nursing organizations of first-line nurse managers had 6 components (43 indicators), consisting of: 1) Information management plan (16 indicators), 2) Organizational management and information team (9 indicators),
3) Interprofessional network management (5 indicators), 4) Data management for quality and services (5 indicators), 5) Vision and information management (5 indicators), and 6) Data utilization for management (3 indicators). The nursing information management model of first-line nurse managers was consistent with the empirical data (Chi-square = 138.24, p = 1.000, Chi-square/df = .162, GFI = .9872, AGFI = .9859, NFI = .9692, CFI = 1.000, RMSEA = .000). Therefore, nursing organization administrators can use these elements to evaluate and develop nursing information to be consistent with the context of hospitals under the Royal Thai Police.
