Abstract

The objectives of this descriptive research were to study the influence of psychological capital, servant leadership, and work-life balance as predictors to work engagement. The samples of this research were 267 deputy inspector police officers who were working in the three southern border provinces (Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat). Data were collected by using questionnaires for general information, psychological capital test, servant leadership test, work-life balance test and work engagement test. All tests were evaluated for validity and reliability. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were .90, .96, .91, and .96 respectively. Statistics used for data analysis consisted of percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

The results of this research showed that: psychological capital, servant leadership, interference of work with personal life, and life enhancement of worker’s work-life balance could jointly predict work engagement about 57.5 % at .05 level of significance (R2 = .575, R2Adjusted = .569, F (df = 4, n = 266) = 88.776, p = .000).
