AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION OF OBSTETIC PATIENTS

Abstract

Aeromedical evacuation of obstetric patients including the transferring for general medical treatment and emergency medical treatment was increased. The aeromedical evacuation of obstetric patients has high risk; therefore, health professionals have to be aware of safety of both maternal and child in all situation. Thus, health professionals that take responsibility about this population have to have knowledge and understanding about the obstetric patient’s assessment before fight, the aviation physiology of obstetric patient, the preparation of specific equipment in emergency case and the emergency child delivery in flight.
