Success in Implementation of Disease Free Child Care Center under the Local Administrative Organization in Pathumthani Province

Abstract

This mixed methods research aimed to examine the success in implementation of disease free child care center. Population were 169 representatives worked under the local administrative organization in Pathumthani province, consisted of 56 chief executives of the local administrative organization and 113 heads of child care center. Research instruments composed of a questionnaire with the reliability of .95 and an in-depth interview guide. Data were collected from January to June, 2014. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, logistic regression analysis, and content analysis.

The results revealed that: 1) the overall score of supporting factors for disease free child care center was between a moderate and highest level; 2) 44.65% of the representatives had score of knowledge concerning implementation of disease free child care center at a good level; 3) the overall score of child care center participation was at a high level (= 3.88, SD = .89); and 4) the factors significantly related to the success in implementation of disease free child care center consisted of administrative characteristics, motivation, and knowledge concerning implementation of disease free child care center (p < .05), which jointly explain the variance of success level by 85.80%.

This study suggested that administrators should continuously promote and enhance knowledge concerning implementation of disease free child care center for personnel. In addition, they should encourage and participate in implementation of disease free child care center. Finally, motivating personnel to follow child care center policies should be promoted.
