Relationship between Nursing Faculty Environments and Self-Directed Learning Readiness of Nursing Students,Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing, Navamindradhiraj University.

Abstract
The purposes of this descriptive research were 1) to study the students' opinions of Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing environment; 2) to study the students’ self-directed learning readiness; and 3) to study the relationship between Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing environments and self-directed learning readiness of nursing students. The samples were 280 undergraduate nursing students from the first year to the fourth year nursing student in academic year 2013 by using a systemic sampling. The instruments for data collection included 1) a demographic data questionnaire 2) Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing environments questionnaire and 3) a self-directed learning readiness questionnaire which composed of 5-rating scales. All instruments were approved by three experts. Index of Objective Congruency to measure the validity was 0.87 and the reliability was 0.96. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient.
Research Findings revealed that the students' opinions in the appropriateness of Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing environments as regard the total aspect, peers aspect, curriculum, and friends aspects were at a high level. The appropriateness of physical environment aspect were at a moderate level. Then, the appropriateness of totally self-directed learning readiness was at a high level as well as searching ability aspect, evaluation of self aspect, ability in self-management aspect, ability in self-learning aspect, and self- study characteristics aspect were at a high level. Significantly, Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing environments relating to friends aspect, physical environment aspect, peers aspect, and curriculum aspect were positively related to self-directed learning readiness of nursing students at .01 level (r = .63, .62, .55 and .53).
The findings can further apply for teaching and learning management which suggests for nursing students preparation of self-directed learning readiness in advance.
