A Surgery Refusal of Laryngeal Cancer Patients

Abstract
The purpose of this qualitative research is studying meaning of laryngeal cancer and choosing the reason which is related to stability and security in resources. The trust in medical system associates with risk to refuse laryngeal surgery in laryngeal cancer patient. The study selects reason for treatment refusal by laryngeal surgery in medical, family and career circumstances. In depth interview was done from 5 laryngeal cancer patients particularly who refuse surgery. The data was collected and analyzed revealed the patients had faith in diagnostic process and treatment technology from the specialists. After consideration finally patients chose no surgical for the best treatment. The patients are not desire to loss in communication ability which leads to loss their jobs. The decision connects to a role of family leader who support family finance. At first patient perception about disease is not serious but it becomes cancer. Despite of patients confident in chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery as informed but from their opinion surgery is not the best choice for them. The patients want to communicate with others, able to work as a principle family supporter.
Suggestion of research: Laryngeal surgery has a lot of effect to patient’s life style. Team of treatment should sympathize with patients. Consultation should be done with non medical terms including life style after surgery. The previous patient group informs their experience to new patients for adaptation after surgery. They need a period of time to make a decision.
