Factors Affecting the Development of Early Childhood Thailand: Public Health Region 5

Abstract

          The descriptive research aimed to study the situation and factors effect to childhood development such as maternal, environmental and child factors. The samples were 853 Children age from 8 months 16 days to 5 years, 11 months, 29 days and their families, randomly selected by Stratified Three-stage Sampling. Data were collected by interviews, maternal and child health handbooks and assessments which based on the Denver II. Form during April - May 2017. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis.

          The results showed that the development of Thai childhood development in Health Region 5 had a delayed development of 16.02%, with language delay of 31.30%, followed by social and self-help, small muscles and big muscles of 14.65, 11.15 and 7.00 percent respectively. In the properly of child development statistically significant at 0.05 found that the maternal factors were age 20-35 years old, environment was the story-tales that told to the children, the child factors were the birth weight of more than 2,500 grams, girl, receiving iron supplements and children without problems on the mouth cavity. Recommended: should promote knowledge about factors affecting child development for families. Screening of child development by family and related agencies.
