The Nurses’ Role for Inappropriate Care in Elderly

Abstract

            Problem of the inappropriate care for the elderly is important as it is more increasingly number today. The problems can take forms physical, psychological financial, and neglect abuse or the inappropriate care for the elderly. The inappropriate care for the elderly effects the physical, psychological, and quality of life not only of the elderly but also the family members and community. Detecting and reporting in inappropriate care for the elderly and necessary to provide treatment and protection during the effects of inappropriate care for the elderly in process of healing and recovery of physical and psychological health. Review of literature in academic articles found that the role of professional nurses is important for solving the problem of the inappropriate care for the elderly. This review will provide types of abuse, risk factors, and the effects of the inappropriate care for the elderly and including the role of professional nurses. So that the elderly can return to live with their families, society or community and continue living with value and dignity.
