The Effectiveness of Learning by Using Electronic Book about Milieu Therapy of the Second Year Nursing Student at Saint Louis College

Abstract
This quasi-experimental research aimed to determine the effectiveness of learning through using electronic books concerning milieu therapy of mental health and psychiatric nursing. The sample was the Second Year Nursing Students in control group (n = 30) and experimental group (n = 30). All of which were all about equal in low, moderate, and high-grade criteria from Grade Point Average. The experimental group was taught by using electronic books and the control group received power point in classroom teaching. Research tools were used to measure achievement in the subject content that had valuable practice assessment R = .82. Also, the assessment about activity groups of students and satisfied students in electronic book had the confidence coefficient equal to .86 and .94. The analysis of data was done by descriptive statistic and was compared to the average by using t - test.
The results revealed that the experimental group was taught by using electronic books and the control group was taught by power point teaching were not significantly different statistically. The research showed that electronic books were an interesting teaching material correspond to learning in the 21 centuries, but still require a teacher’s teaching. Lectures in conjunction with the use of teaching materials, such as power point and video were educational. The recommendations from this study are lecturers must support the use of electronic book especially in complicated and difficult issues for giving them study outside the classroom every time and everywhere.
