Development of the stroke service system in the 7th Health Zone (Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham and Kalasin province)

Abstract

Development of the stroke service system in the 7th Health Zone at Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham and Kalasin began with a shortage of medical specialists, healthcare team and lack of people knowledge. The health team in 7thHealth Zone has collaborated to create the 7th Health Care Stroke Network by designing a service system that allows patients in all areas can access the stroke fast track service. In order to receive the same standard treatment throughout the health zone with fast and efficient service, the development of the stroke fast system included creation of people awareness, alert of stroke signs and symptoms and how to access the stroke fast track in the community, along with the development of the stroke fast track service system within the hospital. It also covers referral network. Home visiting after stroke is very necessary. As a result, stroke patients in the 7th health service area were able to access the stroke fast track service. Thrombolytic treatment rate was higher than the national average, and also can reduce the death rate.
