บทคัดย่อ
ผู้ดูแลเด็กป่วยโรคเรื้อรังเป็นผู้ที่ให้การดูแลเด็กป่วยอย่างใกล้ชิดและเป็นระยะเวลายาวนาน อีกทั้งเด็กป่วยด้วยโรคเรื้อรังบางรายเมื่อออกจากโรงพยาบาลอาจต้องได้รับการดูแลโดยการทำหัตถการที่มีขั้นตอนการปฏิบัติที่ยุ่งยากซับซ้อน ผู้ดูแลต้องจึงต้องทำหัตถการด้วยตนเองอย่างต่อเนื่อง หากผู้ดูแลรับรู้ว่าตนเองมีสมรรถนะในการดูแลในระดับต่ำ หรือได้รับการสนับสนุนทางสังคมไม่เพียงพอ อาจทำให้ผู้ดูแลเกิดความรู้สึกว่าการดูแลเด็กป่วยโรคเรื้อรังที่บ้านมีความยากลำบากและเป็น ภาระทั้งด้านร่างกาย ด้านอารมณ์ ด้านสังคม และด้านเศรษฐกิจ ดังนั้น พยาบาลควรตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของผู้ดูแลในการให้การพยาบาลเด็กป่วยเรื้อรัง เนื่องจากหากผู้ดูแลเกิดการรับรู้ว่าการดูแลเด็กเป็นภาระและไม่ได้รับการแก้ไขหรือช่วยเหลือ อาจทำให้ผู้ดูแลมีความเครียด ความเหนื่อยล้า ส่งผลต่อสุขภาพทั้งทางด้านร่างกายและจิตใจ จนไม่สามารถดูแลเด็กป่วยได้ นอกจากนี้ ยังส่งผลกระทบต่อคุณภาพในการดูแลเด็กป่วยโรคเรื้อรังต่อไปในระยะยาวอีกด้วย บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของพยาบาลในการลดภาระของผู้ดูแลเด็กป่วยโรคเรื้อรัง ในด้านปัจจัยที่ช่วยลดภาระของผู้ดูแล ได้แก่ การรับรู้สมรรถนะของตนเองและการสนับสนุนทางสังคม การประเมินภาระของผู้ดูแล และการให้แรงเสริมแก่ผู้ดูแลในด้านต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้ผู้ดูแลเด็กป่วยโรคเรื้อรังมีการรับรู้ถึงภาระการดูแลลดลง
