Effect of Emergency Patient Care Program toward Self efficacy in patient care of Nursing student of Boromrajonani college of Nursing Chaingmai

Abstract

This study was designed as one group pre – posttest.quasi-experimental stusy The purpose of the study was to study perceived self – efficacy of nursing student after attending a specific emergency patient care program The subject were 126 third – year nursing student at Boromarajonani College of Nursing Chaingmai . The research instrument consisted of two part : 1) demographic data, 2) the perceived self efficacy in emergency patient care. Questionnaire was developed by researchers using Bandura “ self - efficacy concept. The statistics used for analyzing data were mean standard deviation and Paired – Sample T-test

The results indicated that the overall mean score perceived self - efficacy after receiving the emergency patient care program were high P < .001 =(79.45 ,SD =10.42 ) Among these aspects ; these the respiratory emergency score was the highest. According to the above results, the researchers conclude that self - efficacy program for emergency patient enhance and promotes nursing studenst to efficiently care emergency patient and to be able to reduceing these disease rate .As a results, nursing school should include the policy to teach and prepare student nurse with this program to care for emergency patient by this program
