Abstract

Abstract
Challenges in innovation and technology may be an alternative for pharmaceutical development, or it could be a threat to the pharmacist’s career if the pharmacist does not adapt and use technology as a tool for work. The objective of this article was to give an idea about health innovation and let them know about the development process of innovation, as well as to let them understand the factors that may affect innovation, such as organizations that create innovation. The concept and innovation development process are divided into 3 steps: including conceptualization, prototype design and application in routine operation. Among these, ideation in the conceptualization is the most important step. At this stage, if using a design thinking process that focuses on the client / patient or user through the use of value proposition canvas, it will create the most creative ideas and in line with the needs of clients / patients or users. However, sustainability of the newly developed innovations requires a supportive organizational norm. Nowadays, although there are many health innovations that might replace a pharmacist’s work, if a pharmacist understands the concepts and processes of innovation development very well, it will create an extension concept in pharmaceutical development and can use various technologies as tools for pharmaceutical work to be more effective.
