Orthodontic Traction of an Embedded Maxillary Central Incisor: A Case Report
Keywords:

Embedded maxillary central incisors are relatively rare but can significantly affect facial aesthetics, phonetics, and a patient's self-esteem. Accurate diagnosis is crucial for effective management. Treatment options range from periodic observation or removal of obstructions to surgical extraction followed by prosthetic replacement or surgical exposure combined with orthodontic traction. This case report presents a 14-year-old Thai male with an embedded right maxillary central incisor. The patient was treated using fixed orthodontic appliances in conjunction with surgical exposure to move the embedded tooth into the dental arch. The treatment successfully repositioned the tooth with healthy periodontal status. Ideal tooth alignment and stable functional occlusion were achieved.
