Dental Treatment in Children with Global Development Delay: a Case Report

Abstract

The five-delayed developments when compare to same age which often found in children who have 1.Physical development disorder, 2.Cognitive development disorder, 3.Emotional development disorders, 4.Social development disorder, 5.Spiritual development disorder. The abnormalities can be found only one or all aspects (Global Development delay). One of the delayed developments may affect other aspects to be delayed as well. This can also effect to the basic daily life. This article reports about 4.2 years old male with Developmental Disorder who has been referred from Chulabhorn Hospital, Nakon sri Thammarat Province. From Oral examination, multiple dental caries has been found and un-cooperative behavior. The treatments have been done under general anesthesia(GA).The results from the follow up show that patient has no pain, has normal occlusion and an improvement in oral hygiene. Furthermore, parents play major role in taking care of his overall oral health care.
