Abstract

Background: The postpartum period is the period that the mother has adjusted to normal conditions. Is the transitional period of life. Mothers face physical and mental changes and Which such changes may cause confusion and worry in the mind.

 Objective: To the Effects of Health Education Program on Knowledge and Practice in postpartum women at  Krathumbaen Hospital.

 Material and Method: pre - experiment were to comparison knowledge before and after health education program in postpartum women Krathumbaen Hospital. Design by using the theory concept of Benjamin, the Bloomberg and the faculty. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics were Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation inferential statistics was paired  t –test.

Results: The results were as follows postpartum women have mean score before and after Health Education Program was at 17.22 and standard deviation were at 5.017. After the program the mean score was at 23.70 and standard deviation was at 3.687 . The statistical comparison revealed the significant difference (p < 0.005).

 Conclusion: From this findings, health care provider should be made health education program on knowledge and practice in postpartum women to encourage mothers to have the knowledge and ability to care for themselves and their babies effectively.
