Reconstruction of Penis from Foreign Body Granuloma with Circumcision and Partial Foreign Body Removal Technique

Abstract

Backgrounds: In Thailand, There were a lot of patients who have undergone injections with foreign bodies into their penises to increase a penile girth. Nearly all of them will frustrate the results of injection because of distortion and reduction in sensation of penises. In the present day, we can offer many options of treatment for these patients.

Objectives: To report the outcome of penile reconstruction in patients whose penises were injected with small amount of Foreign bodies in Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital.

Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviews case from 1st July 2012 to 1st August 2017 among 50 male patients whose penises were injected with small amount of foreign bodies and all cases have complication including wound fibrosis, difficult and painful in erection. All cases were reconstructed to remove foreign body granuloma with circumcision and partial foreign body removal technique and were followed up clinically for three months.

Results: All Patients were undergone in one day surgery campaign. All patients were satisfied in cosmetic and sexual outcome .There were no serious complications. The minor complications were infection, hematoma and wound dehiscence which were successfully managed.

Conclusions: Penile reconstruction with circumcision and Partial Foreign bodies removal technique is an effective measure to handle paraffinoma patients. The operation is safe, simple and able to perform in one day surgery campaign. All patients were satisfied with the outcome surgery in both cosmetic and sexual aspects.
