Validity and Reliability of the MOSAIC Scale: Thai Version

Abstract
Objective : To assess content validity and internal consistency of the MOSAIC scale.
Method : The Thai version of MOSAIC Scale was developed through forward-backward
translation techniques and reviewed by 5 experts for content validity testing.
A cross-sectional study was conducted to test the reliability in term of internal consistency
of the Thai version, among 100 patients with depressive disorder.
Result : The content validity of Thai version of MOSAIC scale with item correlation
coefficient was more than 0.8. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for all scale was 0.769
and increased to 0.805 when item number 10, evaluated functioning, was deleted.
Conclusion: This study found that Thai version of MOSAIC scale was able to measure
negative mood, positive mood, interest & pleasure and functioning, which could be used
in clinical practice to assess the treatment response in Thai patients with depressive
disorder.
