Accessibility to health service for prevention and control of Migrant workers granted permission for working in Metropolitan Bangkok

Abstract

This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the level of access to health services in general, and the factors related to access of health services for disease prevention and control among migrant workers permitted to work in Bangkok. The study consisted of 403 migrants who were registered and allowed to work in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Data were collected by questionnaires with general data analysis using descriptive statistics and factors related to access to health services. Logistic regression statistics were used at the p-value < 0.05.   The study found that accessibility to Health service prevention and control for Migrant workers granted permission to work in Metropolitan Bangkok that overall was at a higher level. It was also found that many independent factors related to access of health services for disease prevention and control among migrant workers permitted to work in Bangkok at a higher level were the ability to understand the Thai language at a high level (ORadj=2.14, 95%CI=1.42-4.12) and the length of stay in Thailand more than 1 year. (ORadj=3.71, 95%CI=1.83-6.58)
