The evaluation of the project “Safe Baby, Safe Mother” in Sing Buri Province, 2018

Abstract

The objective of this project is to evaluate the assess context, input, process and output (IEST) by using integrated method in 1) quantitative method using CIPPIEST method of Stufflebeam and Shinkfield (2007) collected data from healthcare workers 2) qualitative method using in-depth interviewing in key persons. The result of this study showed that 1) The data from 83 cases of healthcare workers including the operation in the field of mother and child health was acquired by questionnaire, analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. After the project, the outcomes as compared to before the project with better outcome and pass targeted assessment criteria, which consistent with the stated objectives, included ANC prior to 12 weeks, total ANC reaching 3 times, total ANC reaching 5 times, completed postnatal care, preterm birth, maternal death, neonatal death and mother with iron deficiency anemia. 2) Data analysis and descriptive information collected from 20 key persons: 3 executive officers, 12 healthcare workers,5 mother: during 2 years and 5 months from 1st May 2018 to 30th September 2020 showed that the project was suitable and useful for people in Sing buri, should be continued and maintained to be a sustainable project.
