Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor : A Case Report

Abstract : An old Thai female present with spontaneous ecchymoses at left upper arm and hematomas on dorsal surface of both hands for 2 weeks. Investigations revealed prolonged APTT withmixing test showed inhibitor of a time-dependent pattem. She was finally diagnosed acquired factor VIII inhibitor with factor VII activity only 2.8% and factor VIII inhibitor2.24 Bethesda unit She had good response to prednisolone and did not require any replacement therapy.
