บทคัดย่อ: ผู้ป่วยชายอายุ 29 ปี มาด้วยอาการขาช้ายบวมและปวด 3 วัน โดยไม่มีประวัติอุบัติเหตุหรือ immobilization การตรวจร่างกายพบว่ามีชาซ้ายบวมมาก และ Homan's sign ให้ผลบวก การตรวจ duplex ultrasound เข้าได้กับ femoral vein thrombosis ผู้ป่วยได้รับการรักษาด้วย unfractionated heparin และ coumadin ซึ่งอาการดีขึ้น การตรวจเพิ่มเติมสามารถพบสาเหตุของ deep vein thrombosis โดยการให้การรักษาที่เหมาะสม ปัจจุบันผู้ป่วยมีชีวิตได้เกิน 5 ปี รายงานนี้เป็นตัวอย่างให้แพทย์ที่รักษาผู้ป่วยได้นึกถึงสาเหตุต่างๆ ที่เป็นไปได้และจะได้ทำการตรวจให้เหมาะสม
