Abstract
Introduction: This study aimed to study the quality of Norfloxacin Tablets in Drugstores located in
Region 10th Health Provider consisting of 5 provinces such as Ubon Ratchathani, Srisaket, Yasothon, Amnat
Charoen and Mukdahan Provinces. Methods: Samples of Norfloxacin tablet were randomly collected form the drug stores form October 2014 to September 2015 in order to analyze the quality of drugs complying with the United States pharmacopeia (USP 37 in identification, assay, weight variation and dissolution test. Fifty-five samples collected from 21 manufacturers with 24 drug registration numbers were analyzed. Results: The results showed that 50 samples (100%) complied with USP 37 in identification, assay and weight variation test and 49 samples (98%) passed dissolution test. According to the study, the sample Norfloxacin tablet complying with United States pharmacopoeia (USP 37) can be used as a reference for drugs selection and drug quality assurance. Conclusion: This study can be used as a reference for drug selection and increase consumer confidence and also improve drug manufacturing industry in Thailand.
