Effects of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling and Home Visit Regarding Depressive Symptoms on Depressive Disorder Patients at Hang Dong Hospital, Chiang Mai Province

บทคัดย่อ

Objective: to study the effects of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling and Home Visit regarding Depressive Symptoms on Depressive Disorder Patients at Hang Dong Hospital, Chiang Mai Province.


            Materials and methods: This study used a Single Case Experiment method.
The sample group included 5 patients with depressive disorder receiving cognitive behavioral counseling and home visits.  The program had 10 sessions conducted once a week. Sessions 1-3 were home visits that took ,10-15 minutes per session; sessions 4-6 consisted of cognitive behavioral counseling and home visits, which took 40-50 minutes per session. The last 4 sessions were home visits that took 10-15 minute per session. The score of depression was collected in sessions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 of the program. The research instruments consisted of the Thai Depression Inventory and Cognitive Behavioral Counseling and home visit program. Collected data during July, 2020 to December 2020. The statistics used to analyze the data were descriptive statistics.


           Results: The result of the research showed that the score of depression of the sample group tend to lower after attending the cognitive behavioral counseling and home visit program


            Conclusions: Receiving cognitive behavioral counseling and home visits may be effective to decrease the score of depression.
