บทคัดย่อ
บทนำ: บทความฟื้นฟูวิชาการนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงานวิจัยเรื่อง “ความสามารถและการพัฒนาตนเองของนักจิตวิทยาคลินิกไทย: Competencies and Self Development of Thai Clinical Psychologists” โดยได้รับทุนอุดหนุนจากวิทยาลัยเซนต์หลุยส์ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2559 เพื่อวางแผนการเรียนการสอนและเตรียมความพร้อมในการปฏิบัติงานของนักศึกษาจิตวิทยาคลินิก ตลอดจนการฝึกอบรมทางวิชาชีพแก่นักจิตวิทยาคลินิกที่ต้องการพัฒนาตนเอง บทความฟื้นฟูวิชาการนี้เป็นการประมวลข้อมูลและนำองค์ความรู้ที่ได้จากการสืบค้นมาแสดง เนื่องจากผู้นิพนธ์เห็นว่าข้อมูลดังกล่าวน่าจะเป็นประโยชน์สำหรับนักจิตวิทยาคลินิกไทยตลอดจนสถาบันการศึกษาและองค์กรทางวิชาชีพที่เกี่ยวข้อง ผู้นิพนธ์เชื่อว่า การกำหนดมาตรฐานการทำงานเพียงอย่างเดียวไม่เพียงพอต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพนักศึกษาและนักจิตวิทยาคลินิก
เนื้อหา: ผู้นิพนธ์ค้นคว้าแนวทางการพัฒนาวิชาชีพจิตวิทยาคลินิกของประเทศต่างๆ อาทิ สหรัฐอเมริกา สหราชอาณาจักร และออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มประเทศที่จัดว่ามีความก้าวหน้าด้านวิชาการและได้รับการยอมรับในมาตรฐานวิชาชีพอันเป็นสากล เนื้อหาข้อมูลที่ผู้นิพนธ์ดำเนินการค้นคว้าแบ่งเป็น 3 ส่วน ได้แก่ 1) มาตรฐานงานหรือขอบเขตงานของนักจิตวิทยาคลินิก 2) ความสามารถตามมาตรฐานนักจิตวิทยาคลินิก และ 3) เกณฑ์การพิจารณาความสามารถของนักจิตวิทยาคลินิก โดยมีการเปรียบเทียบกับข้อมูลนักจิตวิทยาคลินิกไทยในปัจจุบัน
สรุป: จากการศึกษาค้นคว้าพบว่ากลุ่มประเทศดังกล่าวให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาวิชาชีพในทุกขั้นตอน ตั้งแต่การกำหนดระดับการศึกษาที่รับนักศึกษาเข้าเรียนในสาขาจิตวิทยาคลินิก องค์ความรู้ก่อนเข้าศึกษาสาขาจิตวิทยาคลินิก การเรียนการสอนและการฝึกปฏิบัติ การมีประสบการณ์วิชาชีพหลังจบการศึกษา กระบวนการสอบขึ้นทะเบียนหรือใบประกอบโรคศิลปะ ตลอดจนการรักษาระดับความสามารถตลอดอายุการทำงานในวิชาชีพจิตวิทยาคลินิก
