The Prevalence and Factors Related to Depression in Patients with Diabetes in Sansai District Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

Objective: To study the prevalence, the factors related to depression among diabetic patients, and the results of depression screening in the Diabetic Clinics at Sansai Hospital, Chiang Mai Province.  


Materials and Method: The retrospective descriptive study was conducted from historical data of medical records and registers of patients with diabetes who had depression screening and visited the Diabetes Clinic of Sansai Hospital from October 1st 2018 to September 30th 2019.


Conclusion: When comparing the differences in each factor between diabetic patients with diabetic patients who had depression, it was found that there was no significant difference (P value> 0.05) in terms of age, gender, marital status, education, occupation and comorbid diseases.
