Abstract

The aims of this article are to contribute some knowledge and offer understanding on English teaching process of a Genre – Based Approach which includes applications of stages of teaching learning cycle in the approach concerned in the context of nursing teaching and learning . The authors focus on the importance and the process of language teaching and learning cycle which encompasses five main stages; 1) Building the context 2) Modeling and deconstruction of text 3) Joint construction of text 4) Independent construction of text 5) Linking to related texts. In the final part of the paper, the authors discuss limitations of the approach and then offer some recommendations on how to appropriately apply it into the context of English language teaching and learning to nursing students appropriately.
