Factors Related to Risk Management of Hospital Personnel In Suranaree University of Technology Hospital

This descriptive research aimed to study the relationship between success factors and organizational safety culture with risk management of hospital personnel in Suranaree University of Technology Hospital and study factors predicting risk management of hospital personnel in Suranaree University of Technology Hospital. The sample were 266 personnel randomly selected by stratified random sampling from 981 populations.The research instruments were a self-administered questionnaire which consisted of 1) Demographic data 2) Success factor 3) Organizational safety culture 4) Risk management and 5) Problems and Suggestions. The Cronbach’s alpha reliabilities were 0.97, 0.96 และ 0.96 respectively. Descriptive statistics, pearson product moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis.
The results revealed that the means score of risk management, success factors and organizational safety culture in hospital personnel was at a high level (x̄ = 3.54, S.D. = .605, x̄ = 3.84, S.D. = .580, x̄ = 3.84, S.D. = .633) respectively. Success factors were highly positive correlation with risk management of hospital personnel (r = 0.75, p < 0.001). Organizational safety culture were moderately positive correlation with risk management of hospital personnel (r = 0.70,
p < 0.001). Predictors were authoritative success factors and organizational safety culture which together accounted for
61.4 % of the variance in risk management of hospital personnel (p < 0.001). The strongest predictor was authoritative success factors; change management process (β = 0.339, p < 0.001), followed by success factors; training and human resource mechanisms (β = 0.203, p < 0.001), organizational safety culture; outcome safety culture (β = 0.136, p = 0.018) and success factors; compliance with the ongoing risk management process (β = 0.135, p = 0.039).
