The Effect of Learning and Teaching with E -Learning Model for Undergraduate Nursing Student in Principle and Techniques Subject on Nursingof 21st Century Skills of Nursing Students

This quasi-experimental, one group pre-posttest research was part of the research and development on the e-learning model, NG tube and urinary catheterization topics for nursing students in Principle and Technique in nursing subject. The objectives of this study were to determine the effectiveness of e-learning model on 21st century learning skills of undergraduate nursing students in reading skill, occupational skill, and learning skill. The sample was composed of 75 sophomore nursing students in the academic year 2020 at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Budhachinaraj. The research instruments consisted of two parts: the e-learning lesson for nursing students was developed by researcher and the 14 scale for 21st century skills of the students assessment.The content validity was examined by 3 experts in content and teaching method (CVI=0.89). The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the 21st century skills of nursing student questionnaire was 0.98. The data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test statistics.
The results showed that the sample group had 21st century skills scores in reading, occupation and learning skills after e-learning lesson was significantly higher than before the experiment at the level 0.05. Therefore, in nursing curriculum instructional e-learning strategies that should be used to promotes the 21st century skills of the nursing students.
