This research and development study aimed to 1) analyze existing teaching practices, 2) develop a learning technique 3) implement and test the new learning technique. This study consists of four steps. The first step is to analyze existing teaching practices by interviewing 6 nursing instructors and 12 nursing students and using surveys on 180 nursing students. The second step is to develop a learning technique by synthesising analyzed teaching practices from the first step and implement them on 18 nursing students. The third step is to implement and test the new learning technique by collecting data on four occasions on 142 nursing students. The fourth step is to evaluate the effectiveness of team-based learning patterns by the data analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, content analysis and repeated measures ANOVA. The findings indicated that 1) existing teaching problems were at a low level at the mean of 4.27. 2) learning techniques consist of class preparation and team-based learning. 3) The results of team-based learning in classes indicate that teamwork skills were significantly different from before at least one pair of a group by the level of 0.5; critical thinking scores were significantly different from before at least one pair of a group by the level of 0.5. The suggestion is to study team-based learning in inter-professional classes.
