GOLF TOURISM MANAGEMENT MODEL BY APPLYING THE SOCIAL EXCHANGE THEORY

Abstract

  The objectives of this study were to 1) develop a golf tourism management model under the Social Exchange Theory and 2) study the outcomes of golf tourism development via participatory action research of
the target communities in Chiang Mai based on purposive sampling.
The appropriate golf tourism management model consisted of 4 areas: 1) locations and tourism resources 2) learning process 3) management and 4) participation. Actual involvement of communities should promoted by organizing the tourism clubs. After applying the management model, it was found that people perceived the current situations of their economy, society, culture, natural resources, and overall environments in communities in a positive or better ways.
