Abstract

The purpose of this study was to validate the original English version of POSQ-C (Perception of Success Questionnaire for Children; Roberts, Treasure & Balague, 1998) to Thai version (TPOSQ-C). The original POSQ-C was developed from English to Thai version by using back-translation technique, and its structural validity was tested through a series of confirmatory factor analysis. Then the coefficient internal consistency for the measure reliability was analyzed. A total 282 samples (age ranged from 13–19 years old) were male 63.10% (n = 174) and 36.90% female (n = 104) participated in this study, all were registered and representing in northern provinces. The result demonstrated that; the findings provided acceptable indexes goodness of fit to an empirical support for the applicability of TPOSQ-C among Thai youth athletes; the internal consistency coefficients of TPOSQ-C ( = 0.89) and both subscales; ‘task’ ( = 0.83) and ‘ego’ ( = 0.85) were reasonable accepted.
