Abstract

The purpose of this study was to construct Swimming Rating Scales in Front Crawl Stroke for Prathomsuksa 4 Students of Wattana Wittaya Academy. The sample used for determined qualities of instrument were 40 female students and sample were 217 students used for construction norms. The rating scale of front crawl stroke comprised of 4 skills: 1. Skill to use arms 2. Skill to use kick 3. Breathing skill 4.The relationship of the swimming. The researcher used Index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC) which set up by Rovinelli and Hambleton to determine the content validity, test-retest method was used to estimate the reliability, interjudge of 2 teachers to find out objectivity , and construct the norms.
The results were as follow: the content validity, reliability, and objectivity of Front Crawl Stroke were 0.85, 0.72 and 0.81 which implied good, good and excellent, respectively. The norms had 5 levels from excellent, to good, moderate, poor, and very poor. In conclusion, the Swimming Rating Scales possessed satisfactory quality application to Prathomsuksa 4 Students of Wattana Wittaya Academy
