MODEL OF ADMINISTRATIVE FACTORS AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SPORTS EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUES

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to construct and verify the consistency of the causal relationship model of administrative factors affecting the effectiveness of provincial sports associations with empirical data. The sample consisted of 340 provincial sports association administrators and directors of Sports Authority of Thailand Provincial Center selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments used were questionnaires on administrative factors affecting the effectiveness of provincial sports associations. The data was analyzed by using LISREL 9.1(student) to verify the validity and consistency of the structural relationship model.

                The findings were as follows: The causal relationship model of administrative factors affecting the effectiveness of provincial sports associations showed congruity with empirical data and accepted. The most administrative factor affecting the effectiveness of provincial sports associations was the management functions and followed by the management resources. They could predict the effectiveness of provincial sports associations by 83.7 percent with statistical significance at 0.01 level. The administrative factors that directly affected the effectiveness of provincial sports associations were the management functions and the management resources. Whereas, a factor which indirectly affected the effectiveness of provincial sports associations was management resources.
