INSTITUTE MODEL FOR DEVELOPING SPORT PERSONNEL OF SPORTS AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to create institute model for developing sport personnel to match with Sport authority of Thailand mission. The methodology of the study comprised of six following steps;              1) reviewing literature and collecting data about the background, principle, theories, and concept of the sports organization management using Need Assessment Research method by sent questionnaire to 50 sport associations 2) reviewing model and institute operation components concerned sport authority of Thailand missions, Guidelines for the development of the sports leader, Guideline for institute established in sport authority of Thailand and Institute structural operation component.  3) drafting institute models by analyzing and grouping data into the model structure 4) examining and modifying the 19 developing component models to find appropriateness and feasibility model by 34 experts, 3 participants : coaches, referees and sport association administrators by using focus group discussion. 5) Evaluating appropriateness of model by public hearing on the Sport Authority of Thailand website for 1 month, 131 participants responded the optimized opinions of the institute model for developing sport personnel. Conclude that all institute models is significant to applied (xˉ= 4.05). 6)  Presentations bycollecting 19 component of the institute model integrate the Institute Models and summarize research findings.

                 The research  findings were as follows: 

                  1. Institute model for developing sport personnel consisted of 19 models  which covered 4 resources dimensions (1)  Human Resources dimension consisted by 9 board of institute and 38 full – time workers  (2) Budgeting dimension consisted of annual budget, National sport fund and institute operation income (3) Facilities dimension consisted by Sports Authority of Thailand building and 6 provincial sports association as Institute locations, office goods and supplied, sport equipment and publication (4) Management dimension consisted of 1). Planning examine by conceptual framework in Sport Authority of Thailand Personnel Development Plan 2). Organizing examine by organization chart, number of manpower and job descriptions 3). Implementing examine by support organization, operation resources, process, input/output and customer satisfactions 4). Controlling examine by Planning control, Compliance with the control plan. Monitoring the external / internal and improvements to be used by research and development.

                  2. Institute component model for developing sport personnel was appropriate and practical to implement. Models can integrated with participants involved in the development of basic sports, mass sports, elite sport and professional sports.
