A MANAGERIAL STRATEGIC MODEL FOR ECOTOURISM ROCK CLIMBING

Abstract

This research aimed to study the managerial strategic model for ecotourism rock climbing in Thailand, designing the following procedures for four research methods; (1) Literature reviews on nature of rock climbing of Thailand, including the standard of tourism as well as the standard of rock-climbing activity and relevant law to construct the Strategic Management Status and Problem Questionnaire for the rock-climbing tourism in Thailand. The conceptual framework and construction of management functions were used by mean of planning, organization, operation, controlling, and management resources, consisting of human resources, budgeting, instrument, place, and management. This process was approved by five experts to assess the validity (> 0.60) and reliability (r = 0.78), (2) Data collection in 140 samples (50 customers, 50 leaders, 20 stakeholders, 20 participants, and 7 interviewers), (3) Analysis of  the material problem issues, using group discussion by approval from three experts, factors and procedures were determined and synthesized to form a model, (4) The 17 experts had an argument, as a public resolution, for making a summary of the strategic management of rock climbing for ecological tourism in Thailand. The Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation were used for examining the data.

                        Results were as follows;

                        The study of managerial strategic model for ecotourism rock climbing in Thailand using the construction of management function and the management resource for planning made the managerial strategic model on ecotourism of Thailand designating vision, obligation, goal/purpose in six strategies, 33 tactics. The organization composed of the committees of a managerial strategy, a strategy support centre for management,    as well as a centre supporting standard of stakeholder which contained six items in practical term (obvious structure of organizational development, concrete organization of sport activity for tourisms, promotion of standard of cliff-climbing sport for ecotourism of Thailand, particular-locality organization of cliff-sport-uniqueness supporting activity, organization of ecological cliff-sport-supporting activity for Thai-culture promotion, and organization of cliff-sport-tourism supporting  activity for competition) and which involved     four items for control (determination and assessment of working outcome, potential determination systems as well as strategies and aspects of improvement, summary and analysis of current administration for data base collection for future administration as well as report of practical outcome in advertisements).
