Development of indicators and measures for evaluation of health service performance in public health centers of Tak Provincial Health Office for the fiscal year 2020

This study aimed to develop indicators and measures for evaluation of health service performance within public health centers of Tak Provincial Health Office for the fiscal year 2020. The two methods of the study were 1) develop indicators and measures for evaluation of health service performance in public health centers, which was consisting of 1.1) determining the situation on an evaluation of health service performance 1.2) reviewing the related document 1.3) conducting a participatory action approaches of stakeholders 2) evaluating the indicators by expert judgment approaches.
The study revealed that there were some problems for evaluation of health service performance, which included difficulty in coordination with evaluators, time-consuming, many indicators, and poor participation of related health personnel in indicator development. Following the second process of the study, a total of 41 indicators for 5 levels of public health centers were developed. There were 11 indicators for a district health coordinating committee, 6 for a general hospital, 5 for a community hospital, 5 for a district health office, 4 for a health-promoting hospital, and 1 for Amphoe Project. The indicators were at high levels of suitability by expert judgment evaluation approaches. These indicators could be useful for the evaluation of health service performance in public health centers of Tak Provincial Health Office.
