About the Journal

Journal of Public Health and Health Sciences Research (JPHSR) was established to disseminate a body of knowledge, study investigation, and research. JPHSR serves as a channel for sharing of knowledge, ideas, and information in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, applied Thai traditional medicine, other health-related subjects, as well as health-related innovations, systematically through a research-based methodology.

 

Objective

JPHSR aims to publish academic work and research according to the policy of types of publications in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, applied Thai traditional medicine, other health-related subjects, as well as health-related innovations, derived systematically through a research-based methodology.

 

Journal publishing policy and scope

JPHNU serves as a channel for sharing of knowledge, ideas, and information in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, applied Thai traditional medicine, other health-related subjects, as well as health-related innovations, derived systematically through a research-based methodology.

 

Policy of peer review process

Each manuscript is reviewed by three expert reviewers. The doble-blind review is used throughout the review process.  The decision to publish a manuscript is made by the expert reviewers' evaluations and the editor's considerations. The role of the expert reviewers is to make a recommendation to the journal editor, who makes the final decision. JPHSR reserves the right to revise a manuscript to conform to the JPHNU's format and publishing space. An author is responsible for content and opinion expressed in an article.

 

Criteria for article evaluation

Types of Articles

Research Articles report on original research in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, Thai Traditional Medicine and other related fields, as well as innovative concepts related to health that have been systematically studied with research process are encouraged. Authors are required to affirm that the submitted manuscript has not been previously published elsewhere. Please, ensure that the submitted manuscript contains the following – title, names of the authors, abstracts in Thai and English, keywords, introduction, aims of the research, methods, results, discussions and conclusions, recommendations, and references. The length of the manuscript should be approximately 10 – 15 pages (A4).

Review Articles are reviews of research articles in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, Thai Traditional Medicine and other related fields, that have not been published elsewhere in other journals. The authors review the available national and international research articles including relevant information to provide evidence, answers and critical discussion for a well-defined aspect or question in the aforementioned area. The structure of a Review Article includes title, names of the authors, abstracts in Thai and English, keywords, introduction, main part of the article, conclusion, and references. The length of the manuscript should be approximately 10 – 15 pages (A4).

Book Reviews are articles that are written to academically review, critically analyse, and provide academically sound comments on books or textbooks. These must be in the fields of public health, health promotion and disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, Thai Traditional Medicine and other related fields. The article should include the following – the structure of the book under review, the overall main content of the book, synopses of the content, analysis and evaluation of the book, and benefits/impact of the book. The length of the Book Review should be approximately 3 – 5 pages (A4).

Miscellaneous is a collection of diverse articles that do not fit into the main article categories of the Journal, for example, articles that offer interesting insights, comments and recommendations. The manuscript should not exceed 5 pages (A4).

Letters to the Editor are communications between readers and authors of published articles in the Journal. Letters are encouraged when readers have differing points of views and would like to bring to light the shortcoming or errors of the published articles. From which, the Editor may criticize, support, or dispute. The length of the letter should not exceed 3 pages (A4).

History of Journal 

The Faculty of Public Health, Naresuan University is a learning institution dedicated to the production and development of high-quality undergraduates and postgraduates (master and doctorate degrees) and to develop the knowledge and research in public health. The Faculty of Public Health, Naresuan University recognize the importance of producing knowledge and research, consequently, established the Journal with the objectives:

  1. to publish public health knowledge, health promotion, disease prevention, occupational health and safety, environmental health, health services, applied Thai traditional medicine, and related fields are essential for students, faculty, researchers, academics, health personnel, and the general public engaged in health-related work, both within and outside the institution.
  2. to establish academic networks with educational institutions and national-level health agencies.

The journal committee proceeded with the preparation of the Journal of Public Health Naresuan University. The inaugural edition was published from May to August 2019, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongsak Noosorn, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at Naresuan University. Later, in the Volume 5, Issue 3, from September to December 2023, the journal changed its name to the "Journal of Public Health and Health Sciences Research." The editorial team was founded to manage the journal’s operation in order to generate a body of knowledge for public health, develop evidence-based healthcare, and effectively translate knowledge into practice
